The reason I chose Zimbabwe’s school issues is because I believe that education can affect your whole future. It can leave you in poverty, like it is doing to these children in Zimbabwe, or it can boost you up and give you a better life. The schooling situation in Zimbabwe is very depressing. Just a few years ago, these children would have gotten the best education in Africa, but now the government has cut funding and teacher’s are underpaid and the schools are just falling apart. I would like to educate everyone on what is happening in Zimbabwe, and hopefully as the year goes on, the government and the President of Zimbabwe make some serious changes.

I agree with you that education is very important for one’s future and for escaping poverty. I think that education is also important for the future of Zimbabwe. However, Zimbabwe does not currently seem to have the resources to support its schools. This will make it very difficult for Zimbabweans to get out of a cycle of poverty and is detrimental to the country as a whole. It’s good that UNICEF is trying to help out with education in Zimbabwe, and I hope that it is possible for improvements to be made soon.
